For over 30 years, CA Concepts Studio has created thoughtful, functional interiors tailored to the way our clients live and work.
Christine Freeman, a native of Lansing, Michigan, is a graduate of Michigan State University, where she pursued studies that bridged her passions for design, art history, and music. Her diverse background includes hands-on experiences in spinning, weaving, pottery, welding, and painting—each of which informs and enriches her design approach. These varied skills reflect her deep appreciation for craftsmanship, vintage treasures, and compelling works of art.
In 1988, Christine embarked on her creative professional journey by founding CA Concepts, a company dedicated to bringing her artistic vision to life. The name “CA Concepts” embodies her philosophy: “ca” for Christine Ann, a nod to her personal touch; “concepts” as the spark for abstract ideas, inventions, and thoughtful plans; and the organic process of growth and refinement that culminates in “good design.”
Starting a new project can often feel overwhelming, but Christine’s expertise offers clarity. By working with a professional like her, clients can navigate the complexities of design and make informed decisions on where to allocate their resources. Above all, she values the balance between practical functionality and the creation of a truly custom home, tailored to each of her client’s needs.
What informs the design decision?
Every project begins with us taking the time to learn all about you and what you need—by hearing about your favorite items and the special features of your space. This collaboration helps create a deeper connection to the project, ensuring results that reflect your personality and meet your expectations.
Why materials and sourcing matters
Creating a concept palette inspires clients and helps them visualize a space that matches their style. This can include the colors of sand dunes, the feel of soft chenille, as well as industrial metals and weathered wood. By finding and using the right materials, clients learn to appreciate the designer’s skills and the creative challenges they face.
CA Concepts helps clients navigate
When starting a new construction project or managing an existing one, having an organized approach is crucial. Planning and anticipating potential challenges can significantly impact the final outcome of your project and the overall functionality of your space. This process involves several key steps: defining the project, creating a budget, documenting the space, seeking inspiration, collaborating with contractors and workrooms, and finally, delivering and installing the completed project.
“… Chris worked with us for months on how we function before the projects even started. We have three children so we often function with chaos but Chris created environments that allow for organization and comfort. She worked within our budget but the quality and beauty cannot even be described adequately with words. People come into our home in awe of the detail but the absolute best compliment that we consistently receive is that our home feels more like a home than any other place they have ever been. If you would like a one of a kind place to live, we highly recommend you hire Chris as she is most definitely one of a kind! You will live in a beautiful, unique work of art that feels comfortable, organized, and you will always look forward to coming HOME!!!”
